Note: I am studying GNC Engineering in my free time.
My self-directed study plan includes math, physics, mechanics, orbital mechanics, flight dynamics / attitude determination and control, engineering fundamentals, error analysis, and computer science (mainly software engineering, but a smidge of electronics hardware too).
You can see some of my work in the 'Satellite Telementry' article in the Aerospace Engineering section of my Knowledge Base (accessible with the guest login).
Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineering
GNC Engineering is the branch of engineering that pertains to the path planning, state estimation (location, attitude, motion, etc.), and related control systems for vehicles, such as aircraft (airplanes, helicopters, drones, etc.) and spacecraft (rockets, satellites, etc).
GNC Engineering addresses the questions: What path to take? Where am I? How do I get there?
Satellite Telemetry Project
Note: This project is in development.
This is the first of a four-part series of projects (Satellite Telemetry, Navigation Filter Design, Mission Control Design, and Satellite Constellation) aimed at expanding my knowledge, showcasing my skills, and demonstrating core competencies at the interface between the fields of Data Science, Software Engineering, and GNC Engineering.
The project demonstrates skills relevant to programming, project managment, mission management, and technical writing (documentation, reports, marketing materials, copywriting, etc.) in addition to math, physics, software development, and GNC Engineering skills.
Of note, this series of projects highlights the creation of custom visualizations, interactive interfaces, and optimization routines to communicate and act on mission-critical information.
To view the project, use the Knowledge Base's guest login and select the 'Project: Satellite Telemetry' article in the 'Aerospace Engineering' section.
