Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineering
GNC Engineering addresses the path planning, state estimation (location, attitude, motion, etc.), and related control system requirements that enable vehicles, such as aircraft (e.g. airplanes, helicopters, drones) and spacecraft (e.g. rockets, satellites), to move about in an orderly manner.
GNC Engineering Study Plan
I am studying GNC Engineering in my free time.
My self-directed study plan includes math, physics, mechanics, orbital mechanics, flight dynamics / attitude determination and control, engineering fundamentals, error analysis, computer science, software engineering, and electronics hardware.
You can see some of my work in the articles in the Aerospace Engineering section of my Knowledge Base (accessible with the guest login).
GNC Engineering Projects
Note: These projects are in development.
This is a series of projects (Satellite Telemetry, Simulation Data Pipeline, GNC Loop Simulation, Satellite Constellation, and Mission Control Design) aimed at expanding my knowledge, showcasing my skills, and demonstrating core competencies at the interface of Data Science, Software Engineering, and GNC Engineering.
In addition to math, physics, software engineering, and GNC Engineering skills, the project demonstrates skills relevant to project managment, mission management, and technical writing, inlcuding documentation, reports, marketing materials, copywriting, etc.
Of note, this series of projects highlights the creation of custom visualizations, interactive interfaces, and optimization routines to communicate and act on mission-critical information.
To view the projects, use the Knowledge Base's guest login and select the articles in the 'Aerospace Engineering' section.
